Infill Panels - A Description
Somundy Enterprises “Infill Panels” consist of fabricated panels that are cut to length panels and supplied to the contractor for on-site installation. We are equipped to supply solutions for any type of architectural design.
With the Somundy “Infill Panel” the contractor can simply and quickly enclose the façade of building by installing the panel in between all the existing concrete or heavy steel structure, and finish up to six times faster than with traditional brick an masonry. Once the structure is enclosed, the façade can be finished in a wide array of external finishes.
With the “Infill Panel” fully enclosing a structure from the elements becomes much quicker and allows you achieve a complete and tight seal, only possible with “LSF”. Once the “Infill Panel” arrives on site, the panel is simply inserted into the existing pre-installed channels on the floor and ceilings of the structure that is being enclosed. These existing channels have been measured and installed according to an exact plan as provided by Somundy to facilitate the speedy implementation of the “Infill Panels” and when necessary already incorporate between 20mm to 25mm of vertical spacing for the eventual expansion of the building.
The “Infill Panel” system is calculated to take into account the lateral forces any type of the sheathing that will be applied. All the re-enforcements and any additional affixing that is required can easily be accomplished on site, noting that every “Infill Panel” produced by Somundy to withstand up to 1.2kn of wind force and all panels are affixed to the structure using “Self-Tapping” hexagonal screws.

With the “Infill Panel” the façade of the building becomes complete isolated from the exterior, resulting in the elimination of humidity and infiltrations so common with traditional construction. A building constructed in concrete or heavy steel, becomes much more comfortable, requires less maintenance and can be habitable much sooner, if enclosed with the Somundy “Infill Panel”.
